Domain Expert (Biology/Pharmacy)
About the Role
We are seeking a Biology/Pharmacy Domain Expert to secure LLMs against biosecurity threats. You will simulate adversarial actors attempting to misuse AI for pathogen design, toxin functionality, or bypassing bio-safety protocols. Your work directly contributes to preventing AI from lowering the barrier to entry for biological threats.
What You'll Do
- Red-team models for potential misuse in pathogen design or modification
- Test model safeguards against providing 'dual-use' biological information
- Attempt to extract restricted pharmaceutical synthesis knowledge
- Evaluate model responses to bio-terror simulation prompts
- Help design benchmarks for AI biosecurity
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Biology, Pharmacology, or related field
- Expertise in microbiology, virology, or pharmaceutical synthesis
- Proficiency in English (Polyglots preferred)
- Deep understanding of biosecurity and biosafety risks
- Ethical commitment to security research
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in multiple languages
- Experience with protein folding or genomic analysis
- Biosecurity or public health background
- Knowledge of select agent regulations
